A downloadable game for Windows

Your memories are hazy and the room undulates uncomfortably around you. Maybe you had too much to drink? A woman sits across from you and smiles warmly, her face shrouded by the shadow of her hat. She places a deck of tarot cards in front of you and says, "Say, you look like you play a mean game of cards. Care to play a few hands?"

Well, we tried our best to make the deadline. There's a cute little bug that may crash the entire game that occurs once you get close to the end. But, otherwise, it's mostly playable? Bon appétit.

Controls

The game is controlled entirely by your mouse. There may be some issues with using a trackpad, mainly with scrolling. If scrolling on the map doesn't work for you, it can also be scrolled using the arrow keys.

Quick Tutorial

In-game tutorial? That's scope creep. Here's a quick overview of how the card game works.

This game takes heavy inspiration from Inscryption and functions very similarly. You and your opponent have four lanes where you can place down cards from your hand. Each card as an associated attack power (left number) and health (right number). If you place a card opposite of an opponent's card, you'll "attack" your opponent's card, until you're able to whittle down its health to 0. If you place your card in front of an empty space, you'll instead directly "attack" your opponent. Whenever your opponent takes damage, their whiskey glass gets filled with alcohol. If you're able to fill their glass to the brim, then you win the battle.

On the right side of the screen, you have two decks to draw cards from. The top deck is an assortment of 0 cost cards. They don't have amazing stats, but you can place them on the board without incurring any cost. The bottom deck is your own personal deck. You can build up this deck as you progress through the game. You can't play many of these cards for free. Cards with a coin icon at the top (the amount of coins indicates their cost) cannot be played without sacrificing the same number of cards currently on your side of the board. Some cards have special abilities. Some cards can be pulled inverted, altering their behavior. Hover over the cards and you'll get a description in the guidebook on what their special ability is.
